Privacy

Jigsaw Grove does not know who you are. There is no account to make, and nothing here is trying to work out who is sitting at the other end. This page says what that means in practice, in plain words.

It describes the site as it is today, and the site is young. As it grows we expect to add things that touch this page: ads to pay for it, visit counting, and optional accounts for things like keeping your puzzles across devices. Each section below says what is planned for it. Whatever arrives, it will be described here, in the same plain words, before it appears on the site.

No accounts, no cookies

Today you do not sign in, so there is no name, no email address and no password held anywhere. The site sets no cookies of its own, and there are no tracking pixels, no advertising tags and no social media buttons. Nothing here follows you to other sites.

Accounts are planned as an optional extra, for people who want their puzzles to follow them between devices. When they arrive, playing without one will work the way it does now, and this section will say exactly what an account stores.

Your puzzles stay in your browser

A puzzle you have started, the pictures you have finished, and your settings such as the table colour are all saved by your own browser on your own machine, in what browsers call local storage. None of it is sent to us and none of it reaches a server. That is also why a puzzle you started on one computer is not waiting for you on another, and why clearing your browsing data clears it.

You can remove all of it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. We cannot remove it for you, because we cannot see it.

Counting visits

There is no analytics on this site today, so nobody here knows how many people opened this page. When that changes it will be Cloudflare's cookieless analytics, which stores nothing on your device and does not identify you, and this paragraph will say so.

The site has to be hosted somewhere

These pages are served by Cloudflare, the way a large part of the web is. Your request reaches their servers in order to reach the site at all. We do not add anything to it.

Ads

There are no ads on Jigsaw Grove yet. Ads are how we expect the site to pay for itself, so they are coming. Before the first one appears, this page will be updated to say plainly which ad network it is and what that network does.
